My goal: To build up my indurance, back to where it was 2 years ago! I was doing 35 mins on the elliptical at level 6 and burning over 400 cals.

After years of monthly gym membership fees, I have not renewed my membership and instead splurged on my bery own elliptical machine.
I won't go into detail about the research and decision making that went into the purchase of the elliptical.

I'm focusing on trying to get the most out of my home workouts.
So, from my internet research, these are a few pointers, mostly for beginners. I consider myself a new beginner because my health and cardiovascualr capacity has significanlty decreased over the past 6 months.

I found a good video too, on Youtube, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-UbjIbUD18

1- Enter your information before starting the workout: aim to burn 100 calories per 10mins.
2-Adjust the resistance, working out with no resistance does not bring about results!
3-Posture is important to burn more fat, do not slouch!
4-Go less fast with more resistance , to keep your heart rate up!!
5-Change directions, going backwards puts emphasis on your hamstrings and glutes!
6-Change the workout every couple of months, with different internvals, faster for 1 minute, higer resistance for 4 minutes etc.
7-Balance the weight off your toes, sit back in your heels.
8-Work the upper half of the body with the moving handles.
9-Don't forget to add weight trianing to your home workouts.

To see the workout, just keep reading.
