Yorkshire Terrier: Cancer
Meet Poupoune: She is our pure bred Yorshire Terrier. She weighs 2.4kgs and is seven years old.
She has a Yorkie temperament and we love her to pieces. We've had her since before our son was born...she's like our girl!
She gave us wuite the scar last night. She has never been opererated (so, she get's still gets her period, every 6 months, thank God).
So , we notived her mammary glands were swollen (breasts) and of course, in a jiffy, we goolged her sypmtoms and came across a well known fact that Female yorkies actually have a 26% chance of developing mammary cancer after age 6, if they have not been operated.

So, off we drove to the vet and upon examiniation, she confirmed that she did not have cancer.
In fact, she had an imaginy pregnancy and therefore had milk in her breast.
That was a relief.
She was sent on her way, with this mini collar to hlep her stop licking her swollen breast and therefore help stop the production of milk!!
